Strep throat is an infection of the throat that causes swelling, redness, and fatigue. It might also cause a fever, headache, and a sore throat. It is caused by a bacterial infection. It is most commonly spread through contact with saliva or pharyngeal secretions. Strep throat is easily treated with antibiotics.
